MORE ABOUT THE CSFC

We the members of the CSFC own a Cessna 172, so becoming a member means you have a share in our aircraft. However there are no share buying costs, no monthly fees, no maintenance costs and no landing fees at Rochester.

The CSFC is a non profit making club formed in 1965 to give its members access to cheDown wind at Rochesteraper training for the Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and cheaper aircraft hire for those who had already obtained their PPL. Today the CSFC is  open  to:- category (a) The Civil Service category anyone who is an employee in a government department or agency, plus Royal Mail, BT, Post Office and other public bodies such as museums, research councils and companies carrying out ex-civil service work. In addition we welcome as members under Category (b),  people in certain  other "Public Service" type jobs e.g. Local Government and NHS. Past employees of any of the above organizations who are retired on pension are also able to join.

Flying rates are the same whichever your membership  category. We only make the distinction because we are affiliated to the body that facilitates recreational activities in the Civil Service - The “Civil Service Sports Council” or “CSSC Sports and Leisure”. We own a Cessna 172, 4 seater aircraft based at Rochester Airport which is alongside the A229 near Chatham Kent. This aircraft is available to our members at rates far below those charged by other flying clubs. More Details
